some fabulous ladies

and some fabulous flowers- by Daughter
Further to the post below, I followed Shefaly’s link to the very lovely femme d’un certain age and belatedly noticed that glamorous lady-ness has now become a major blogging phenomenon in front of my very slow eyeballs. Despite being devastated to have missed out on a chance of joining in the Une femme d’un certain age: Fabulous! Festival – Travel Edition, I will be studying this bunch of posts before my next set of expeditions, as it almost all forms of transit generate massive filthy groggy vileness pervading everything you see, hear, smell or eat, making any kind of effort at self-elevation worthwhile. (No I don’t travel first class. )
Fabulously broke in the city is one of the blogs featured, which I coincidentally found elsewhere recently. Diva in a carry on is another recent find, not included in the festival but relevant to the subject. And as far as fabulous ladies go, the Bitter old maid in Brooklyn is another, so that counts as a trend.
On the other hand, I wouldn’t want to use the F word too often, or confuse it with this similar one, as I saw the lady on Martha once and was not noticeably impressed. Maybe it takes a bit more to be considered over-the-top where I come from than it does on the Martha show.

Alice, thanks so much for the link! I’ve just discovered your blog (thanks, Shefaly!) and will spend some time reading through your posts. Sorry you missed out on this edition of the Fabulous! Festival, but there’s another one coming up over at HATtastic, so don’t be shy.

I noticed that, and immediately ran imaginatively aground on the subject (hats)… any suggestions gratefully received…
