Speaking of walking as I was in a comment on this post about new mini-laptops, I was reading Amy Alkon recently (can’t find the actual post), about how city life is healthier because you have to walk around the whole time especially up and down stars etc, and thought, how true. Door-to-door carmanship cannot possibly be good for people, walking is healthier.

But then I found myself in the mall trying to find the right stores, up and down for miles, and it struck me: people who don’t live in cities drive to malls, but then they walk around all day inside the malls. And I’ve never done any formal exercise at all, and am entirely normal-sized, healthy and drug-free (so far), and shopping is my number one hobby. So, there you have it- hard evidence: shopping is good for your health!
